Diddy’s new record, “The Love Album: Off the Grid,” is bringing out his softer side.
The music mogul celebrated its release at Brooklyn Chophouse Times Square’s secret location, 47 Below, and “had an emotional moment talking about their friendship” with the spot’s owner, Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins, a source told Page Six.
The pair met when they were students at Howard University.
“Me and Pooh — he used to let me sleep on his floor in his apartment,” Diddy said in a video captured by celebrity photographer Johnny Nunez.
Needless to say, those days are long gone.
Don Pooh is operating the “dim sum American steakhouse” with locations in Downtown Manhattan, as well as the restaurant’s Times Square flagship.
Stars like Diddy’s girlfriend, Yung Miami, Mary J. Blige, RZA, Jim Jones, Fabolous, Jaylen Brown all came out to celebrate the album’s release. We’re told the group feasted on the signature dishes, including its selections of satays, dumplings, salt and pepper lobster, shrimp fried rice and steak.
Meanwhile, partygoers were shocked to see Deleon tequila flowing, rather than the tequila from Diddy’s famous Ciroc brand.
The rapper and executive has been caught in a nasty legal battle with liquor giant Diageo over its alleged lack of support for Diddy’s booze.
He recently scored a legal victory in the case after a judge denied Diageo’s motion to dismiss the case or have it resolved privately.
