Kennedy Chelan, an Canadian expat living in Queensland, has listed the different types of Aussie men she sees a lot on dating apps
‘This colour of orange makes me f***ing sick now purely because I have seen it too much and for some reason being a chippy or a sparkie is your whole personality,’ Kennedy said pointing to a high-vis shirt in a video posted to TikTok.
Second on Kennedy’s list was the ‘Melbourne guy’ who she said generally includes a picture of themselves ‘mysteriously’ drinking a cocktail at a bar ‘you’re not cool enough to know about’ on their profiles.
‘I’m convinced they put out a public announcement that said to be a Melbourne guy you have to have a picture of you at the races,’ she joked.

‘The second requirement is that somewhere on your profile you mention almond croissants, bonus points if you debate where the best almond croissant in Melbourne is.’
Kennedy’s ‘favourite’ type of Aussie bloke is the ‘moustache tattoo guy’.
‘There are a billion of you out there but only some of you are doing it right. You probably listen to really cool music and have better shoes than me,’ she said.
She gave the thumps up to ‘surfer dudes’, saying they were cool, have long hair, tanned skin, and are usually a little bit skinny.
‘There’s a lot of you. You take really aesthetic pictures, there’s probably a picture of you surfing some close up and then some picture on film,’ she said.
Another type Kennedy said she sees on dating apps is the Gold Coast guy whose ‘life is the gym’.
‘He gets really rowdy on the weekends, probably dips in to some illicit substances and yes, their names are still things like Brad,’ she said.
‘This kind of profile probably says something about looking for a girl with a nice butt or hanging out with the boys on Saturday having a couple of beers.’

Kennedy finally mentioned the infamous bogans out there, showing an image of a man on a boat wearing fish flip-flops.
‘I feel like the word bogan – I don’t like saying it seems offensive but everyone still says it,’ she said.
‘I’ve seen it, I don’t care to see it again.’
Viewers were in stitches over Kennedy’s hilarious and ‘accurate’ observations and suggested she travel the country to encounter more Aussie guy ‘types’.
‘There are a couple variants you might come across. The Cashed Up Bogan usually in WA, and the Hipster from the Sydney Easter Suburbs,’ one man said.
‘Oh man, I’m like all these guys in one. Surfer, tradie, gym guy who’s into cars,’ another replied.
‘You forgot the millions of guys who wear a flat brim surf cap, Oakleys, and a Billabong T-shirt and shorts with sandals,’ a woman pointed out.
