UAE. Dubai International Airport (DXB), has opened the region’s first airport gaming lounge Game Space, in the DXB Family Zone within Concourse B, Terminal 3.

The vibrant purple colours welcome guests to an entirely new concept for the region

With 20 game titles to play, including Fortnite, League of Legends, Gran Turismo 7, Crash Bandicoot and more, there are options to suit every taste, age and preference.

Passengers travelling to the region for football action with the FIFA World Cup 2022 will also have plenty of opportunities to continue their fix with top games on hand to keep them immersed.

Game Space Co-Director Errol McGlothan said: “We are excited to work with Dubai Airports to deliver an innovative new gaming experience for travellers at the world’s leading hub.

“We know that gaming is incredibly popular in the region and Game Space will allow travellers to change their waiting time at the airport into their gaming time.”

Dubai International has partnered with Republic of Gamers, which is dedicated to gaming hardware and software

Game Space is open 24/7 with food and drink options available. It has 40 game stations in total, each with 50-inch screens and side-by-side seating for solo or multi-player gaming.

Travellers of all ages can choose from 20 game titles including Fortnite, League of Legends, Gran Turismo 7 and Crash Bandicoot

Dubai Airports Executive Vice President Commercial Eugene Barry said: “We are delighted to partner with Game Space to launch this new gaming lounge for our global guests, which adds an exciting new element to our existing range of retail, food and hospitality partnerships across the airport.”

Key hardware for 20 of the 40 gaming stations will be provided by Republic of Gamers (RoG), an ASUS sub-brand dedicated to creating gaming hardware and software.

Game Space Co-Director Frédéric Briest said: “Working with strategic gaming partners like ASUS, we believe that we have a unique collaboration to push the boundaries of what the lounge experience can be.

“We are delighted to provide unique and fun moments for beginners to experienced gamers transiting from Dubai.”

Each ROG gaming station has a PC featuring a motherboard by ROG, plus a ROG 2K 240 Hz monitor, ROG headset, an RGB mechanical ROG keyboard, ROG mouse, and ergonomic ROG gaming chair.

Access to Game Space is available to all travellers for a fee. Priority Pass, independent airport lounge and experiences programme will also provide game time for their members. Other card membership programmes will be available soon.
