Sadyr Japarov says reforms in education sector take first steps

AKIPRESS.COM – Kyrgyzstan is reforming the education sector, President Sadyr Japarov said on November 25 at the national kurultay.

“Some studies state that the quality of education in the country’s schools is assessed as low. There are various problems, including the low status of teachers. Everyone knows that only an experienced teacher can give a good education to children. If there is no decent salary, then the specialists will not want to work,” he said.

The head of state noted that the education standards are being revised.

“A competition is being held for the position of school directors, and there are already the results of this reform. Funds were allocated to increase the salaries of teachers, and there is an influx of specialists in schools. Attitude towards teachers will continue to improve. The technical base of schools will be brought up to international standards. These are only the first steps in this direction,” Sadyr Japarov said.
